SAITEK X52 SOFTWARE WONT WORK INSTALL
The Info still says 7.0.23.13 and if I install an older SST, like the 6.6.6.9 which was suggested as the latest working version, it shows up as unknown (and doesn't work either). It doesn't appear at Devices menu and I must type USB into the control panel's searchbox to find it. Tried several versions, all with a clean install and without the internet connection as suggested, but all gave the same results. And my programmed buttons were recognized in the SST but not doing really anything in my games nor even desktop, the mouse didn't work also. DirectOutput couldn't even show anything on them.

This happened on my USB 3.0 port and after installing the drivers on my 2.0 port my MFD 3 character lines went completely empty, forever.

You can do that by right clicking on them and select the last option, named Quantsize Time.Am I the only one who just cannot get this thing to work on Windows 8 64bit? I remember first time installing the newest drivers, programming worked but trigger-state at the clutch button wasn't saving, FSX plugin didn't work, incorrect characters were showed (NP prifele, Med 1 etc.), scroll buttons under MFD weren't working at all (only stopwatch or world time) and the backlight sometimes randomly went 100% or 0%. 0.1 and 0.13 respectively should be fine. Then you must delete the key releases in the top line and the key presses on the bottom:įinally, to make the command more responsive, you might want to reduce the delay in the bottom release part from 0.112 and 0.168 to something lower (but NOT zero). Take into account that when you press some keys, the release of keys is also recorded. If you record a regular macro or keystroke with Ctrl +1 then it will not work because the Ctrl will be released before the 1 is pressed and the game will only register the 1 since Ctrl by itself does nothing. Afaik, that can only be done with the Advanced Command feature as Breexy1 said. More specifically, you will need to set the keystrokes in a way that the Ctrl button is pressed Before the 1 and released after. Eventually, you will get the binds to work as you need them to. Just play with the Advanced Commands option and keep testing after you have saved changes. The trick is to use the 'New Advanced Command' feature in the drop down, not the standard key bind option. The programming can be tricky for multi-key bindings and continuous fire key presses (holds). I have been flying with the X55 for 5 months now (mostly D.C.S.). Still I won't hesitate to recommend the X55 over the X52. I really, really miss the convenient thumb slider on the throttle of the X52. While the X55 offers far more buttons than you could ever use in BoS, The complete lack of sliders is a downer. Especially the trigger seems a bit clunky and I find myself missing the incredibly soft, smooth two-stage trigger in the X52.ģ. While the metal flip switches are really nice and have a pleasant feel to them and the rotaries are vasly superior to the crude ones on the X52, many of the other buttons aren't nearly as pleasant as on the X52, they require more force and go down with an unpleasant suddenness (pressure, pressure, pressure "CLICK!"). It isn't customizable for various hand sizes either.Ģ. To reach all buttons can put a strain on especially your tumb. The stick isn't nearly as ergonomically pleasant as the X52. Overall the X55 is a huge step forward for me, but there are downsides:ġ. It has a s***load of buttons and enough rotaries and hat switches to suit almost any need. The accuracy is better by a large margin and the 4 different springs makes it easy to get the right feel on the stick right away. Even though it's still mostly plastic design, it feels a lot more sturdy and sits much more firmly on any surface (no suction cups needed - though there are still holes to fit it with screws). I recently bought the X55 to replace my broken X52, and so far I'm happy with it.
